Several developers have reported that our README seems to be bloated, not easy to read and lacks an easy way for developers to their way into the project. This PR shall change that and ensure that developers quickly find necessary information on already implemented things for a much better start.
Please do not merge this into the development branch until we have officially finished the changes.
