Inaccuracy: Sentence case in md files

The style guide calls for the use of sentence case in headings, but many of the markdown files (README.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, etc.) do not follow this pattern.

It is far from a big deal but does seem inconsistent.

Would you all be open to a pull request to address this?
