Fails to apply on Ubuntu 18.04 with cuda-drivers version 455.45.01-1

Describe the bug ./patch.sh exits with error code 9 and doesn't print anything.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Update Ubuntu 18.04
2. Install cuda-drivers which is at version 455.45.01-1 now
3. Run ./patch.sh

Expected behavior At least some error message to tell me what is wrong.

Output listings No output, just error/status code 9 after the script exits.

Environment (please complete the following information):

• OS: Ubuntu 18.04 with HWE
• GPU model: more nVidia GPUs than I can remember
• Patch commit used: 1da18b0827785fb95dd68d905e7fbb79b2067e7c
• Nvidia driver version: 455.45.01-1
